Co. Tres Picos – Abril
Mount Tres Picos is located in the south of Buenos Aires Province, about 580 km from the City of Buenos Aires (CABA), next to Mount Ventana.
At 1239 meters above sea level and approximately 400 million years old, it is the highest point in the province, surpassing the peaks of the Tandilia System; for this reason, we call it «the roof of Buenos Aires.»
It has a dry mountain climate with warm summers, where temperatures exceed 30°C during the day.
We invite you to explore this beautiful mountain range where contact with nature is paramount, but where we will also enjoy pleasant hikes, games, conversations, and much more.
Meeting Point:
The meeting point for those traveling by car is Estancia Funke, and for those traveling by bus or train, it’s the Tornquist Bus Terminal.
We take care of transfers from the terminal to the property and vice versa. Our intention is that you can disconnect from the complex logistics of the transfer and begin to feel the excitement of the beautiful days we will experience in close contact with nature.
Itinerary
We will arrive at Estancia Funke in the early morning, where we will check in before beginning the first trek and transport all the equipment.
The initial trek will be very relaxed, allowing each of you to connect with the environment, its breezes, and aromas. We recommend bringing light, easily digestible snacks such as nuts, apples, bananas, etc., to eat before and during the hike.
Upon arriving at our campsite, while the team sets up the tents, we will take a short walk to familiarize ourselves with the area, where we will also review some basic guidelines and have some free time to take photos and relax.
Lunch.
Recreational and environmental interpretation activities. During the activities, we will provide a snack, with time to enjoy, rest, and attend to your personal hygiene.
Dinner.
On the second day, we’ll have an early breakfast.
Then we’ll begin an unforgettable trek through the mountains, where we can enjoy nature in all its splendor. With a bit of luck, we might spot native wildlife from ancient times. We’ll visit a large cave where we can enjoy lunch, and then head for the summit of the highest peak in Buenos Aires province.
